Finding Your Perfect Wedding Venue

Venue Amenities

One of the most important things to consider when looking for that perfect wedding venue is the included amenities. Undoubtedly, wedding venues offer a very wide varying level of in-house services. With some wedding venues, you are just purchasing the space. That means you are still on the hook for finding décor, a service staff, a caterer that fits your needs, linens… the list goes on. Certainly other venues, like the Clarks Landing Family of properties, pretty much offer it all. From centerpieces to alcohol, we have it covered. This “Wedding in a Box” set up pretty much lets our couples enjoy the process knowing that all facets of their wedding planning are being handled in house by wedding planning experts. One phone call can get you a myriad of different answers. We are truly a one-stop-shop.

Timing

Choosing how far out to book your wedding venue can be impacted by many factors. Each couple is unique and has different factors that are important to them regarding choosing your wedding venue for your big day. If you are firm on a date, and will only work with a venue that has a very particular date available, I would recommend an early start with touring wedding venues. At The Mill Lakeside Manor, it is not uncommon for us to be working with a couple as far out as 2 years prior to the potential wedding date. Occasionally even earlier! On the flip side of that coin, if you are flexible with your wedding date and are more open to considering dates that are less in-demand, you can take your foot off the gas a bit. Especially if you are open to options, I would recommend booking your wedding venue at least 1 year in advance. The wedding planning process is exactly what you make of it. Certainly if you make some big decisions early, you are able to hone in on the smaller details as the big day approaches without being so frazzled. Unquestionably planning a wedding is a ton of fun IF you are using your time wisely.

Your Perfect Venue

I think the moment you have found the perfect wedding venue for you is when you are able to relax in the space. We see this all the time. People walk in and we are the 7th venue they have visited that day. The bride is overwhelmed and the groom “checked out” 2 venues ago. They phone it in and go through the same questions they’ve asked coordinators on all of the previous tours. Then, at some point, the tour becomes conversational. You start envisioning yourselves in space. The questions become more specific to the individual property. You are looking into the future and seeing your big day unfold in this space. Ideas are washing over you and excitement builds. Congratulations, you have found your perfect wedding venue!
