Guest Blogger: Eva Gerapetritis, Make Me Up EvaAs we all get ready to kick 2020 to the curb, we want you to look & feel your absolute best – whatever your plans! So we checked in with our beauty partner and preferred vendor, Eva Gerapetritis of Make Me Up Eva. She was THRILLED to share these tips to get you party-ready as you ring in 2021.
#1: Make Up Tips – How To Fix Mascara On Your Eyelid
Imagine this, having the most beautifully executed eyeshadow look – you absolutely mastered the blend and killed it! You then apply coats of mascara, only to get a smudge of black on your lid. DONT PANIC! Wait for the mascara to dry completely, and it will come right off with a Q-tip!#2: How To Find The Perfect Red + Undertones
Here is a 2 for 1! Finding the right shade of red can absolutely be intimidating – but here is a simple trick! Specifically if cool-toned (veins on your wrist appear more purple), you want to go for a blue-red – which would be the tried and true candy apple red. If you are warm-toned (veins on your wrist appear greener), go for a more orangey-red lipstick!#3: Make Up Tips – Keep Those Brows In Place!
2020 has definitely been the year of the brow. Whether micro-bladed, tinted, laminated, etc., brows really made their appearance. A new trend is “lamination” where the brows sort of stick up straight. This process can be tons of $$$. A simple trick is to buy a clear mascara & comb your brows up! The mascara will keep them in the shape that you create – basically like a “DIY” lamination!#4: Super Oily Skin?
Is your skin extremely oily – where you feel like no matter what you do, the oil shows through? Well, this one is going to sound crazy BUT – a cheap alternative to a mattifying primer is Milk of Magnesia! Apply a little bit to a cotton round, put it on as a base under your foundation and I promise you still stay matte all day!#5: Make Up Tips – Super Long Lashes
Lastly, how do I get my lashes SUPER long? Mascara primer! Yes, this stuff actually works! Surprisingly my favorite is Loreal Voluminous. What you do is apply 1-2 coats of the primer, and then your mascara! The primer will give the mascara something to stick to – much like a primer when you paint a wall!
